Introduction to Urban Sketching – Brush Pen Drawing

Drawing with a brush pen requires control over pressure to manage line thickness, which can change dramatically with the slightest movement. Yet it’s a charming tool that gives a drawing lots of character through the variation of its lines.
In this workshop, we explore 3 different brush pens, their characteristics, and how to find your own brush pen drawing style. We will take time to get familiar with each of them and practice dynamic sketching.
All levels welcome — beginners also.
Note that we will draw from reference images. But if the weather allows, we will sketch outside!
What to bring:
• Sketchbook (preferably bounded, cold press)
What is provided:
• 3 types of brush pen (to take home)
• Reference images to sketch from
• Tea & cookies
